Halloween 2002

This year we were part of a Halloween party committee for our apartment complex. The management graciously allowed us to decorate a large recreation room and committee members pitched in to create a spooktacular Halloween for young and old. Decorations were wonderful! Black lights, hanging dead branches from the ceiling that we spray painted black and silver, skeletons, black candles, two fog machines, hanging spiders, ghosts, spooky music and sounds and more. There were pumpkin carving contests, costume contests, prizes for all, games for small children, a "Witch's Kitchen" full of slimy wet things labeled "Fresh Brains", "Gory Guts", "Peeled Eyeballs", and the like. The maintenance department built a wonderful Guillotine replica for photo opportunities, and I contributed one of my own favorite props, a life-like severed head, to sit in front of the guillotine. But the real centerpiece was a REAL coffin in a back room, draped in black and framed with green "slime lights". A volunteer dressed in gothic black lay in it with eyes closed until a curious "victim" came too close. :)

Everyone that came had a spooky food dish to add to the buffet.
I brought my new recipe for "Witches Fingers Cookies".

I wore my cats eyes special effects contact lenses with the Black Widow costume. It was wickedly fun to watch
the expression on people's faces when they noticed the eyes! My consort for the evening was the Devil himself!
