Halloween - 2007

With the popularity of pirates, we couldn't resist having our own pirate-
themed yard haunt for 2007. I made five full pirate costumes for family
members, and we added a few more skulls, a pirate chest for the candy, and
dark pirate music in the background.

We didn't want "cute" pirates, so we opted for a scurvy crew of dead or
half-dead blackhearted brigands. Davy Jones was a big hit with the kids.

Three of us used the lightweight foam latex prosthetic faces which added
a touch of realism since the thin latex glues to your face and moves with
your face muscles. They are much more comfortable to wear.

We had loads of trick-or-treaters, many dressed as pirates themselves,
who loved the theme and wanted to join right in.

To feed the troops we had our usual "witch finger" cookies, one of my
favorite "finger foods" for Halloween.

I carved the jack'o'lanterns the night before, using new patterns
and putting long-burning candles or battery operated lights in each.

We are already planning next year, tossing around different themes and
costumes, perhaps Vampires and Undead, or possibly a Haunted Circus!
(Yes, clowns can be VERY scary.)
